Egyptian Cat 9cm

Product Description: This 9cm Egyptian Cat is made from resin and has hand painted gold decoration to the ears and to the pectoral it is wearing around the neck and chest. The cat has a gold earring in each ear. It is supplied in a box with a label on the front.

Information: This fine reproduction is of a cat sacred to the Egyptian goddess of love, fertility and joy, Bast or Bastet. The worship of Bast dates from at least 4000 BC, reaching its height around 1500 BC when thousands of pilgrims poured into the temple at Bubastis to take part in the annual festival.
