Celtic Gem Cross Pencil Topper

Product Description: This Celtic Gem Cross pencil topper is made from lead-free pewter and is supplied with either a red, blue or green gem. It is affixed on top of a 13cm black wooden pencil with the word “Celtic” and two Celtic knot designs printed on it.

Information: The Celtic cross is essentially a Latin cross with a ring surrounding the intersection of the arms and stem. Scholars have debated its exact origins, but it is related to earlier crosses featuring rings. The shape, usually decorated with interlace and other motifs from Insular art, became popular for funerary monuments and other uses, and has remained so, spreading well beyond Ireland.
