Information: On June 15, 1215, John met the barons at Runnymede on the Thames and set his seal to the Articles of the Barons, which was formally issued as Magna Carta. The seal depicts King John on the throne holding a sword and sceptre with the legend around in Latin translated to "John, by the grace of God King of England and Lord of Ireland".
