Information: King Arthur (c. AD500), was a legendary British ruler of medieval times. Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table at Camelot were honoured in the Middle Ages as the epitome of chivalry. The king was cast in a number of roles - as a squire called to greatness, as a noble ruler, a fearless warrior and the perfection of knighthood.

Excalibur was the sword of King Arthur. There are two main versions of the legend about King Arthur's great sword. In one version Excalibur was embedded in a block of stone. Only the rightful heir to the throne of England could pull it out. Many men tried but only Arthur succeeded. In the other version, Arthur received the sword from the mysterious Lady of the Lake.
