Product Description: This 6cm long Anubis the Dog is made from resin that is painted black with hand painted highlights in gold to the ears and neck piece. It is supplied with a full-colour double-sided information card that has an image of an Egyptian funeral scene on the front. On the reverse there is historical information which explains about Anubis. The Anubis and folded card are supplied in a clear box.
Information: In Ancient Egypt Anubis was the god of embalming and the dead. Since jackals were often seen in cemeteries the ancient Egyptians believed that Anubis watched over the dead.
He was depicted as a human with a Jackal's head or just as a Jackal. He was also associated with the protection of the dead for their journey into the afterlife.
