Product Description: This Mini Roman Helmet is made from lead-free pewter and is a 3D model of a Infantryman's Helmet. It is supplied on a quality key-chain. The mini helmet key-ring is presented on a Roman key-ring header card.
Information: Helmets were vital for the Roman infantry as they offered great protection to the head and the galea was the most common helmet. Craftsmen had to balance protection with wearability and mobility, while also allowing a soldier to see. The exact form or design of the helmet varied significantly over time, between differing unit types, and between individual examples, as each was made by hand.
The helmet would have been worn with silver scale cuirass (body armour) and greaves, to protect his legs.
