Roman Enamelled Medusa Brooch

Product Description: This Roman Medusa Brooch is made from metal and is inlaid with blue, red and green enamel. The brooch is fitted with a brooch bar on the reverse, so it can be secured to clothing. The Medusa Brooch is supplied in a presentation box together with a card providing historical information.

A finely cast Romano-British brooch decorated with vibrant blue, red and green enamels. The brooch features a central plate formed into the face of the Gorgon Medusa, decorated with smaller, concentric, circles with enamelled inlays. A beautiful example of a rare brooch showing the skills of the master jewellers in 3rd century Rome.
