Roman Figure Key-Ring

Product Description: This 4cm tall Roman Figure is made from lead-free pewter. There are four different figures available these being, Gladiator, Praetorian, Legionary and Signifer. Each is supplied on a quality key-chain. The Roman figure key-ring is presented on a Roman header key-ring card.

Information: The military of ancient Rome was a key element in the rise of Rome from a small settlement in Latium to the capital of an empire governing a wide region around the shores of the Mediterranean, or, as the Romans themselves said, mare nostrum, "our sea".

• Gladiators were both professional and amateur fighters in ancient Rome. They fought each other or against animals, usually to the death.
• The Praetorian Guard was an elite unit of the Roman army. The first emperor Augustus founded the guard as his own personal security detail.
• The Roman Legionary was a professional heavy infantryman of the Roman army. Legionaries had to be Roman citizens and were well trained, disciplined and well armed.
• The Signifer was a standard bearer of the Roman legions. He carried a signum (standard) that was the military emblem of the unit into battle.
