Product Description: This Roman Infantryman Helmet pencil topper is made from lead-free pewter and is a 3D model of an Infantryman's Galea Helmet. It is supplied on a 13cm black wooden pencil with the inscription "VENI VIDI VICI 'I came, I saw, I Conquered', Julius Caesar." printed on it in silver.

Information: Helmets were vital for the Roman infantry as they offered great protection to the head and the galea was the most common helmet. Craftsmen had to balance protection with wearability and mobility, while also allowing a soldier to see. The exact form or design of the helmet varied significantly over time, between differing unit types, and between individual examples, as each was made by hand.

Veni, vidi, vici ("I came, I saw, I conquered") is a Latin phrase used to refer to a swift, conclusive victory. The phrase is attributed to Julius Caesar who used it in a letter to the Roman Senate around 47 BC after he had achieved a quick victory in his short war against Pharnaces II of Pontus.
