Rune Ring - Pewter

Product Description: This Viking Rune Ring is made from lead-free pewter and has runic symbols inscribed on the shank. The ring size can be changed to make it larger or smaller. The ring is supplied in a clear blister mounted to an information card, which depicts Viking runic symbols on the front and describes about runes on the reverse.

Information: The Vikings left behind a great number of documents in stone, wood and metal, all written in the mysterious symbols known as runes. They relied on these symbols not only for writing but also to tell fortunes, cast spells, and provide protection. The runic alphabet, or Futhark, gets it name from its first six letters (f, u, th, a, r, k). Each rune not only represents a different sound but also has its own distinct meaning often connected with Norse mythology.
