Product Description: This Roman Serpent Ring is made from lead-free pewter that is 22ct gold-plated and is made up of two serpents connected tail-to-tail. The ring size can be changed to make it larger or smaller. The ring is supplied in a clear blister mounted to an information card. The information card depicts a Roman mosaic on the front and describes how serpents were popular in ancient times on the reverse.
Information: Serpents and other mythical beasts were popular in both Greek and Roman times. They appeared on jewellery items such as torcs and rings as well as on mosaics and coins. Serpents were only one of various animals in legend supposed to be like a snake in shape but usually of enormous size and often living in the sea or a lake.
