Earth Pendant - Pewter

Product Description: This Earth pendant is made from lead-free pewter. The Earth model is supplied on a waxed cord. The pendant is mounted on an information card, which has an image of Earth on the front and on the reverse, it provides information about the planet Earth.

Information: Earth is the third planet from the Sun, which orbits once a year at a mean distance of 150 million km (93 million miles). It is the only planet scientists know to have life, this is thanks to the liquid water and the atmosphere that keeps life safe. Water covers approximately 71 percent of the Earth’s surface. The surface of the Earth is called the crust. This is split into a number of enormous plates, which have pushed and pulled against each other for millions of years, creating mountains, valleys and other features.

The Earth has a single moon that orbits it at a mean distance of about 384,400 km (238,855 miles). This moon is a quarter of the size of Planet Earth and is kept in orbit by the pull of the Earth’s gravity.
