Product Description: This Spitfire pin badge is made from metal and is a raised high definition 3D image of the side profile of the aeroplane. It is supplied on a pin with separate clasp. The pin badge is mounted on an information card, which has the Spitfire title and details of “Lord Lloyd I” Wing Commander Douglas Bader who flew the Spitfire on the front. On the reverse is historical information about Bader and the aircraft.

Information: Group Captain Sir Douglas Bader, (21 February 1910 – 5 September 1982) was a flying ace of the Royal Air Force during the Second World War. He was credited with 22 aerial victories, four shared victories, six probable, one shared probable and 11 enemy aircraft damaged.

Between 24 March and 9 August 1941, Wing Commander Bader flew 62 fighter sweeps over France. On 9 August while flying a Spitfire Mk VA serial W3185 “D-B” on an offensive patrol over the French coast his plane was damaged whilst engaging 12 Bf 109’s. He bailed out and was taken prisoner.
