Information: The daffodil holds special significance to the Welsh and is considered the national flower of Wales. It is often associated with St. David's Day, the national day of Wales, which is celebrated on March 1st each year in honour of St. David, the patron saint of Wales. The daffodil's association with this day is partly due to its Welsh name, "Cenhinen Pedr," which translates to "Peter's leek." St. David is said to have advised the Welsh soldiers to wear a leek on their helmets to distinguish them from their Saxon enemies during a battle, and over time, this tradition evolved to include the daffodil as a symbol of Wales.
