Information: Manfred von Richthofen, aka the “Red Baron”, was the highest-scoring fighter pilot of World War I. In 20 months of combat, he officially shot down 80 enemy aircraft, including 21 planes in the month of April 1917 alone. He was nicknamed ‘The Red Baron’ by the allies because of the distinctive red colour of his planes.
